An Aerial Hammock is the ultimate tool for strengthening, lengthening and realigning your body and for people suffering from back pain, the aerial hammock is often helpful as it reduces pressure on the spine. Suitable for ALL ages, fitness & flexibility levels, and the perfect compliment to other Defy Gravity classes.


This Strength, Conditioning & Flexibility based class using traditional yoga, barre, pilates, strength, bodyweight as well as flexibility and mobility moves whilst supported by the aerial hammock. It is what is classified as a grounded aerial “work”out, which is what makes it so perfect and achievable for almost EVERYbody – ALL ages, fitness & flexibility levels, and is the perfect compliment to our Bungee and Barre-Pilates classes.


Incorporating elements from traditional floor based yoga and aerial arts, our Fit & Flexy classes provide a whole body workout sure to develop your flexibility, release muscular tension and provide greater mobility and agility, while also having fun and realigning you from the compression of gravity!


You will need to have completed at least our Defy Gravity Aerial FUNdamentals workshop or a similar Aerial Yoga Basics course at another studio to safely participate in this class and get the most benefit from it.

How it works –

Online Classes are around 30-45 minutes long and delivered LIVE online through our MindBody Virtual platform and require pre-booking and payment or a current online membership. A link to the live class will be sent to you via email a 1/2 hour before the start time and we recommend you have the class link open ready to go 5 minutes before the start time.

What to wear in an Aerial class –

Please wear long or 3/4 length leggings with a snugg’ish fitting t-shirt. Nothing too big that you can get tangled up in. As we will be doing inversions, please wear a suitable sports bra or crop top, so as to avoid wardrobe malfunctions 😉 This is a barefoot class, so please wear socks or grip socks.

** We do not recommend shorts or bike pants for Aerial as you can get “silk burn” .

To protect your Aerial hammock from tears and damage, Jewellery and Watches should not be worn whilst training and practicing. If you wish to wear a smart watch or fit-bit, ensure it securely covered by a soft wrist/sweat band.
