Learn to Read….

Food labels carry all the information you need to know about what you’re putting in your mouth, so learn to read food labels. Hidden sugars and overly processed foods are the arch enemy when you’re trying to lose weight and is a major reason why people fall short of reaching their goal. They can also be disastrous when trying to manage your blood sugar levels – so avoid them as much as possible.

As general guide avoid manufactured sauces and dressings, baked goods (cakes, pastries and the like), pre-prepared meals, sweets and anything white (think rice, flour, pasta etc). Go for their wholemeal sisters instead…brown rice and wholemeal bread and pasta. You don’t have to necessarily STOP all your favourite things, just SWAP them for a healthier alternative.

I’m Cherene – a wife, mother, grandmother and founder/owner of Defy Gravity Fitness studio. It wasn’t long before we also expanded into Aerial Yoga, Barre, Pilates, Suspension Fitness and Yoga, and I became a qualified Nutrition, Health and Life Coach (amongst other things). DEFY GRAVITY FITNESS brings together over 15 years of knowledge, and fusing it with Functional and Suspension fitness to create my EXCLUSIVE new Bungee and Suspension based fitness classes.
