Zenergy Balls

These little Zenergy balls truly are Amaze Balls, and are a power pack of yumminess and goodness. Keep them on hand for those mid morning/afternoon snacks and they are PERFECT as a pre-workout snack. I like to make up a batch over the weekend and store half in the fridge for the first few days of the week, and the other half in the freezer to pull out for later in the week 🙂

Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter OR ½ Cup Nutella
1/2 Cup Honey OR ¼ Cup Honey & ¼ Cup Maple Syrup
3/4 Cup Chocolate Protein Powder
1/3 Cup Oatmeal (quick cooking oats work best)
1/2 Cup Coconut Flakes (+ more to roll them in!)
1 Tblspn Chia Seeds (I generally use white, but black are fine too)

Method:
1. In a small bowl, mix peanut butter and honey and heat in microwave for about 45 seconds.
2. Mix in oatmeal and protein powder. Then mix in coconut and chia seeds.
3. Form into small balls and roll in additional coconut flakes.
4. Refrigerate for 1 hour and enjoy!

Makes about 25-28 balls – Keep in fridge or freezer

I’m Cherene – a wife, mother, grandmother and founder/owner of Defy Gravity Fitness studio. My husband, Graham and I live in Newcastle (Australia), with our fur child, Axel – and our tribe of adult children are all off living their own best lives. I guess you could say I was a “late bloomer” – ie. it wasn’t until my 40’s that I discovered my love for all things fitness, nutrition, health and wellness. It started in 2004 when my eyes were opened to the fitness/sport of Pole Dancing just coming to Australia. We wanted IN, and by 2005 my daughter Bailey and I had opened our first pole studio – Pol-arise Fitness & Dance (which is still operating today under Bailey’s management). It wasn’t long before we also expanded into Aerial Yoga, Barre, Pilates, Suspension Fitness and Yoga, and I became a qualified Nutrition, Health and Life Coach (amongst other things). DEFY GRAVITY FITNESS brings together over 15 years of knowledge, and fusing it with Functional and Suspension fitness to create my EXCLUSIVE new Bungee and Suspension based fitness classes.
